1. 歯の表面に付着する細菌の膜。また、体内の組織にできる異常な沈着物や皮膚の病変。

歯の表面にできる細菌の膜（歯垢）や、体内の血管や脳などにできる異常な沈着物、あるいは皮膚に現れる平らで隆起した病変などを指します。
