1. 失業手当、失業給付金

政府が失業者に支払うお金や援助全般を指します。特に英国でよく使われる表現で、「on the dole」で失業手当を受けている状態を表します。

He's been on the dole for over a year now. (彼はもう1年以上失業手当を受けています。)
