1. 広く信仰されている主要な宗教（特にキリスト教、ユダヤ教、イスラム教）を信仰しない人。異教徒。

キリスト教、ユダヤ教、イスラム教といった主要な一神教を信仰しない人々を指す際に使われることが多いです。時には軽蔑的な意味合いを持つこともあります。
