1. 夢の中のような、現実離れした感覚や雰囲気を表す。

現実にはありえないような、しかし美しく幻想的な、あるいはぼんやりとした感覚を表現する際に用いられます。まるで夢の中にいるかのような、非現実的な体験や情景を指します。

The old castle had a dreamlike quality, as if it belonged to another era. (その古い城は、まるで別の時代のものであるかのような夢のような趣があった。)

2. はっきりしない、あいまいな、現実感が薄い様子を表す。

夢の中のように、物事がはっきりと認識できない、輪郭がぼやけている、あるいは記憶が曖昧であるといった状態を指す場合にも使われます。

The memory of the accident was dreamlike and fragmented. (事故の記憶は夢のように断片的で不明瞭だった。)
