1. 弦を指でかき鳴らして連続的な音を出す、またはその音を立てる。

弦楽器の弦を指で連続して弾いたり、口を閉じてハミングしたりするときに出る、ブンブン、ブンブンというような連続的で単調な音を出す様子を表します。

He began to thrum his guitar idly while waiting. (彼は待っている間、手持ち無沙汰にギターをかき鳴らし始めた。)
