1. 視覚的な手がかりや十分な情報がない状況で、何かを探したり調査したりすること。

濃い霧や暗闇で何も見えない状態、または事前に何の予備知識や情報もない状態で、何かを見つけ出そうと探索したり、調査を進めたりする行為を指します。手探りで進むような状況を表します。
