1. 英雄的な偉業や家族の歴史を描いた長編物語、特に北欧の伝説。

家族や特定の集団の歴史を何世代にもわたって描いた、長くて壮大な物語を指します。特に、中世の北欧（アイスランド）の英雄伝説や家族の物語を指すことが多いです。
