1. 人を大声で叱る、厳しく叱責する

失敗や誤りなどに対して、相手を声高に、あるいは厳しく非難し、叱る様子を表します。

My boss bawled me out for being late. (上司に遅刻したことで厳しく叱られた。)

• My boss: 私のボス、上司
• bawled me out: 私を大声で叱った、厳しく叱責した
• for being late.: 遅刻したことに対して

She bawled him out in front of everyone. (彼女は皆の前で彼を厳しく叱った。)

• She: 彼女
• bawled him out: 彼を大声で叱った、厳しく叱責した
• in front of everyone.: 皆の前で

He got bawled out by the coach after the game. (彼は試合後、コーチに厳しく叱責された。)

• He: 彼

2. 大声で泣きわめく（あまり一般的ではない用法）

感情、特に悲しみや不満などを声に出して大声で泣いたり叫んだりする様子を表すこともあります。ただし、前述の「叱る」という意味の方が一般的です。

The child bawled out when he dropped his ice cream. (その子供はアイスクリームを落として大声で泣きわめいた。)

• The child: その子供
• bawled out: 大声で泣きわめいた
• when he dropped his ice cream.: アイスクリームを落としたときに

She bawled out her frustration during the argument. (彼女は議論中に不満を大声でぶちまけた。)

Don't just bawl out about it; do something! (それについてただわめいているだけでなく、何か行動しなさい！)
