1. 灰のような、または非常に青ざめた色をしている様子

もともと「灰の色」を意味し、そこから転じて、病気、恐怖、ショックなどで顔色が非常に青ざめて灰色っぽくなる様子や、何かの色が灰色っぽい様子を表します。
