1. 光や音などが、ある媒体から別の媒体へ進む際に、その境界面で進行方向を変える現象。

光や音、波などが異なる密度の物質を通過する際に、その速度が変化し、結果として進行方向が曲がる現象を指します。特に光学において、レンズやプリズムを通して像が形成される原理の基礎となります。
