1. （人や功績などを）称賛する、褒め称える。

個人や成果の優れた点を公に認め、尊敬の念をもって称賛する行為を指します。特に公式な場面や書面で使われることが多いです。

The critics lauded the new film for its innovative storytelling. (評論家たちは、その革新的なストーリーテリングで新作映画を称賛した。)
