1. 高速道路などで、速い車が追い越しをするために使う車線。

高速道路や有料道路などで、速度の速い車両が、遅い車両を安全に追い越すために使われる車線を指します。通常、複数の車線がある道路の一番左側の車線（右側通行の国では一番右側）を言います。
