1. 既存の楽曲の要素を変更したり、新しい要素を追加したりして作成された別バージョン。

楽曲のボーカル、インストゥルメンタル、テンポ、ジャンルなどを変更して、原曲とは異なる魅力を引き出すことを指します。DJやプロデューサーによって行われることが多いです。
