drag bunt

[dræɡ bʌnt] ドラグバント

1. バントの一種で、打者がボールを三塁線に沿って転がし、自分が出塁することを目的とするもの。

主に左打者が、ピッチャーや三塁手の前を抜けて三塁線に沿ってボールを転がし、自らの足で一塁に到達しようとするバントです。相手の守備を乱し、内野安打を狙う攻撃的なプレーです。

The speedy leadoff hitter executed a perfect drag bunt for a single. (俊足のリードオフヒッターは完璧なドラッグバントを決めてシングルヒットにした。)
