1. 集団内での力関係や順位、特に上下関係の序列。

特に動物の群れにおけるつつき合いから転じて、人間社会における上下関係や順位付けを指します。誰が上位で誰が下位かを示す序列のことです。

2. 鶏の群れなどにおけるつつき合いによる優劣の順位。
