1. 計画や状況がうまくいかないこと。

物事の進行や機能が期待通りにいかず、失敗したり、機能不全に陥ったりする状態を表します。

Something has gone wrong with the computer. (コンピューターがおかしくなったようです。)

• Something: 何かが、何らかのことが
• has gone wrong: うまくいかなくなった、故障した
• with the computer.: そのコンピューターで、コンピューターに関して

I hope nothing goes wrong on the trip. (旅行中に何も問題が起きないことを願っています。)

• I hope: 私は願っている
• nothing goes wrong: 何も問題が起こらないことを、うまくいかないことがないことを
• on the trip.: その旅行で、旅行中に

Everything seemed to go wrong today. (今日は何もかもがうまくいかないようでした。)

• Everything: すべて、あらゆること

The experiment went wrong and caused an explosion. (実験は失敗し、爆発を引き起こしました。)

2. 誰かが道徳的に間違った行動をとる、あるいは犯罪を犯すこと。

特に人の行動や判断が、道徳的に、あるいは法的に見て間違った方向へ向かう、またはすでにその状態にあることを表します。人生で道を踏み外すような状況にも使われます。

He started going wrong in his teens. (彼は10代で道を踏み外し始めました。)
