1. 建物で、グラウンドフロア（地面に接する階）のすぐ上にある階。日本の「2階」に相当します。

イギリス英語圏では、地面に接する階を「グラウンドフロア（ground floor）」と呼び、そのすぐ上の階を「ファーストフロア（first floor）」と呼びます。これは日本の「2階」に相当します。
