1. 間違いや誤りを正す行為または過程。

間違いや誤りを見つけて、それを正すという一連の行為や、その過程そのものを指す場合に使われます。

The teacher's correction on my essay helped me improve. (先生が私のエッセイを訂正してくれたおかげで、私は上達した。)
