1. 永久的な雪や氷が存在する、または永続的な積雪が残る最低標高を示す境界線。

山岳地帯において、年間を通して雪や氷が溶けずに残る最も低い高度を示す想像上の線のことです。この線より上では、常に雪や氷を見ることができます。
