1. 兵士や野外活動者が携行する、あらかじめ包装された携帯食料。

軍隊において兵士が戦地や演習地などの野外で食事を摂る際に支給される、調理が不要な携帯食料を指します。MRE（Meal, Ready-to-Eat）などが代表的です。また、登山家や災害時の備蓄食料としても用いられることがあります。
