1. キリスト教の聖書の後編部分で、イエス・キリストの生涯と教え、使徒たちの活動、そして初期キリスト教会の発展を記した27の書物からなる。

キリスト教において、神と人類との新しい契約（協定）を象徴し、イエス・キリストの降誕からその死と復活、そして使徒たちの伝道活動、終末の預言までを網羅しています。主にギリシャ語で書かれました。
