1. 物質を構成する最小の単位。

原子は、陽子、中性子、電子からなる物質の最も基本的な構成要素です。化学的な手段でこれ以上分割できないと考えられています。

2. 非常に少量、微量。

非常に少ない量や微細なものを指す際に使われることがあります。否定的な文脈で「少しも～ない」「微塵も～ない」という意味合いで用いられることが多いです。
