1. もし～ならば、という仮定に基づいて考えるさま。

現実には起こっていない、あるいは起こるかどうか分からない状況について、もしそれが起こったらどうなるか、という仮定の話をする際に用います。

Hypothetically, if you won the lottery, what would you do? (仮に宝くじに当たったとしたら、どうしますか？)

• Hypothetically: もし～だったら、という仮定の話をする際に用いる副詞です。
• if you won the lottery: あなたが宝くじに当たった場合を仮定しています。
• what would you do?: その時あなたはどうするつもりですか、という質問です。

Let's consider this hypothetically for a moment. (少しの間、これを仮定の話として考えてみましょう。)

• Let's consider: ～を考えてみましょう、という提案です。
• this: これ、この問題や状況を指します。
• hypothetically: 仮定として、という意味の副詞です。
• for a moment: 少しの間、という意味です。

He hypothetically agreed to the plan, but nothing is final. (彼は仮定的にその計画に同意しましたが、何も最終決定ではありません。)
