1. 非常に速く通り過ぎる、あっという間に過ぎ去る

何か（時間、人、物など）が目の前を猛スピードで通り過ぎる、あるいはあっという間に過ぎ去る状況を表すときに使われます。

The train seemed to whizz by the station. (列車は駅を猛スピードで通り過ぎたように見えた。)

• seemed to: ～のように見えた。
• whizz by: 猛スピードで通り過ぎる。
• the station: その駅。

The car whizzed by us at an incredible speed. (その車は信じられないほどの速さで私たちのそばを通り過ぎた。)
