1. 人を欺くために注意をそらすこと。

人の注意を別の方向に向かわせることによって、本来注目すべきものから目をそらさせる行為や状態を指します。手品や詐欺、スポーツなどでよく使われます。

The magician used misdirection to make the audience miss the trick. (マジシャンは観客が手品を見逃すように注意をそらすこと（ミスディレクション）を使った。)
