1. 電子メールの受信に用いられるプロトコル。

POP3 (Post Office Protocol version 3) は、電子メールクライアントがメールサーバーから電子メールメッセージをダウンロードするために使用するプロトコルです。通常、メッセージはサーバーから一度ダウンロードされるとサーバー上からは削除されます。

Many older email clients use POP3 to download messages. (多くの古いメールクライアントは、メッセージをダウンロードするためにPOP3を使用します。)
