1. 団体や組織の内部運営に関する規則や細則。

会社、クラブ、協会などの団体が、その組織構造、メンバーの権利と義務、会議の進め方、役員の選出方法など、内部的な運営を規定するために定める規則のことです。定款（articles of incorporation）よりも詳細な内容を定めます。

The board of directors approved the new bylaws at their last meeting. (取締役会は前回の会議で新しい細則を承認した。)

• approved: 承認した、という意味の動詞の過去形です。
