1. 競技などで、勝敗が非常に僅差で、写真によって判定する必要がある状態。または、きわどい勝負そのもの。

主に競馬などの競技で、勝負の決着が非常に僅差で、肉眼では判断しきれず写真の確認が必要になる状況を指します。転じて、物事の結果が非常にきわどい状態全般を表すようになりました。
