1. 一般的または期待される行動の基準やパターン、あるいは平均的な状態。

社会や集団において、通常そうであると認識されている行動や状態、あるいは平均的な水準や基準を指します。

Working from home has become the new norm. (在宅勤務が新しい常識となった。)

• Working from home: 在宅で仕事をすること。
• has become: ～になった、～と化した。
• the new norm: 新しい標準、新しい常識。

It's the norm for students to wear uniforms at this school. (この学校では生徒が制服を着るのが普通だ。)

特に統計学や測定において、あるグループの平均的な特性や、比較の対象となる基準となる数値を指します。
