1. 情報検索や整理の際に、情報の正確な分類、索引付け、検索を目的として、使用する用語を限定し、標準化した語彙のこと。

「Controlled Vocabulary」は、特定の分野や目的のために、情報の検索、索引付け、整理を効率的かつ正確に行うために設計された、あらかじめ定義された用語の集合です。これにより、異なるユーザー間での情報の解釈のずれを防ぎ、検索の一貫性と網羅性を高めます。主に図書館学、情報科学、データベース管理などで用いられます。
