1. 光度の単位で、標準的なろうそく1本の光度を基準とする。現在はカンデラに置き換えられている。

かつて光の強さを表すのに用いられた単位で、標準的なろうそく一本分の光の強さを1カンデラパワーとしていました。現代の国際単位系ではカンデラ(cd)が使われており、カンデラパワーは歴史的な単位となっています。
