話している時点から見て、現在進行中のその年全体を指します。過去や未来の年と区別するために使われます。

• This year: 現在進行中の年を指します。
• has been: 過去から現在まで続いている状態を表す助動詞と動詞の組み合わせで、「～であった」という意味です。
• challenging: 「困難な」「やりがいのある」という意味です。
