1. 頂上が平らで側面が急峻な、周囲より高い台地状の地形。

主に砂漠地帯に見られる、侵食によって形成された地形の一種で、頂上が平らで周囲から急に立ち上がっています。スペイン語の「テーブル」が語源です。
