General Staff

1. 軍隊や大規模組織において、作戦計画、人員管理、情報収集、兵站などを担当する参謀の集合体。

軍隊などで、最高司令官を補佐し、戦略の立案、部隊の運用、兵站の管理といった中核的な業務を行う専門家集団を指します。広義には、企業などの組織における計画・管理部門を指すこともあります。

The General Staff held a meeting to discuss the new military strategy. (参謀本部は、新しい軍事戦略について議論するために会議を開いた。)
